While World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 each year, it’s something we should think about year round. The protection and improvement of the human environment is a major issue that affects the well-being of people and economic development throughout the world. The day provides an opportunity to broaden the basis for an enlightened opinion and responsible conduct by individuals, enterprises and communities in preserving and enhancing the environment. Today’s blog focuses on a few of the ways our Los Cabos vacation rental company is contributing to the ideas of World Environment Day.
1. Our home fumigations are Eco & pet friendly.
There’s nothing fun about insects and vermin infesting your home. When the need for a home fumigation arises, Lifestyle Villas uses both eco and pet friendly products. When toxic chemicals are used, they can harm the environment by leaving traces of the chemicals in the ground, where it can leach into the water table. These traces can harm you, your family and your pets.
2. Our staff promotes saving water.
The conservation of water is another way we strive to protect the environment in which we live. Our Lifestyle Villas staff invites guests to save water and contribute by not requesting laundry and bed change every day during their stay. When we can cut down of the amount of laundry we do, we can conserve the limited resource of fresh, clean water.
3. We send our final bills via email.
By using an electronic billing system, we cut down on the paper usage of our office. It’s too valuable of a resource to be wasted. The over use of paper puts a huge pressure on the environment. Expanded paper production and pulp wood harvesting threatens some of the last remaining natural forests and the people and wildlife that depend on those forests.
4. We recycle paper in our office.
Paper waste is a big issue, as it has a huge negative impact on the natural environment, which is why we recycle paper in our office. When you don’t recycle, that paper ends up in landfills, which release harmful chemicals and greenhouse gasses. Recycling helps to reduce the pollution caused by excessive waste. In addition, habitat destruction and global warming are just some of the other effects caused by deforestation.
5. Our homes and office have LED bulbs.
In order to save electricity, we have placed LED bulbs in all of our Los Cabos villas, as well as our office. Energy use affects the environment and everyone in it. While electricity can be obtained from solar or wind power, most electricity in homes comes from the burning of non-renewable fossil fuels. The more electricity that’s used, the faster these resources will be depleted. In addition, the burning of fossil fuels and some other energy forms can pollute the environment in a number of ways, particularly by putting contaminants in the air we breathe.
6. We use plants and organic products in our homes.
At Lifestyle Villas, we’re trying to “Go Green” in as many ways possible. This includes using plants and organic products in our homes. There’s no denying how damaging exposure to toxic chemicals can be to both human health and the environment. We strive to keep our homes and visitors safe by avoiding the use of harmful products in our Los Cabos rental homes.
Lifestyle Villas encourages you to help protect our environment as well. We want to be able to continue offering unforgettable vacations in our sun-soaked environment. There’s so much beauty in the Baja California region of Mexico, and by working to protect it now, we’ll be able to enjoy it for years to come!
