For many people, the perfect vacation equals salt in the air and sand beneath your toes. Whether you’re making memories with friends and family or looking for some relaxation time, there’s no better place than the beach! In today’s blog, Lifestyle Villas offers a few tips for a successful day at the beach – and in Los Cabos, we have no shortage of beautiful beaches!

Hydrating on Los Cabos Beach1. Bring Plenty of Water and Snacks.

Spending the day out in the sun can dehydrate you quickly. Not staying hydrated can lead to sickness and other issues. When heading to the beach for the day, be sure to bring plenty of bottled water for everyone – and make sure to actually drink it. Depending on how long you plan to be at the beach, you’ll also want to bring some lunch or at least some snacks. Good snacks for the beach include fruits and veggies, as well as chips or crackers. If the beach isn’t near any restaurants, you might want to bring sandwiches for lunch as well. Bring a cooler or insulated lunch bag to keep everything cool and protected from the heat of the sun.

2. Pack Sunscreen, Sunglasses and a Coverup.

While you may be planning to get that beautiful golden tan, you want to protect yourself from sun rays. Be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen and re-apply it regularly, even if you don’t get in the water. Getting a sunburn at the beach can make you uncomfortable for the rest of the day, and the rest of your trip. Having a coverup can also help prevent sunburn and keep your body cool. Protect your eyes from the sun as well, with a good pair of sunglasses.

3. Gather a Book, Magazine and/or Music.

Relaxing on the sand, under the sun with a great book is the perfect way to spend the day at the beach. If reading isn’t your thing, bring your phone or other music player to listen to some tunes while you soak up the sun. Having something to keep you entertained as the day goes on will make your beach day even more enjoyable.

Beach Bag and Towel Los Cabos4. Include the Perfect Beach Bag.

While the sand may be beautiful and feel soft beneath your toes, it can be a nuisance once you’re done at the beach for the day. Bring a beach bag to carry your stuff in, and keep the sand from getting all over your stuff and coming home with you. Don’t forget to bring the beach towels too! You’ll want something to sit or lay on, and if you decide to get in the water, you’ll need something to dry off with. They also come in handy for wiping the sand off the bottom of your feet!

5. Plan Some Activities.

In Los Cabos, there are a variety of fun activities you can enjoy on the beaches. Let a Lifestyle specialist help you plan the perfect itinerary. For those of you looking for a little more excitement than just sunbathing all day, consider a snorkeling excursion or try horseback riding along the water’s edge.
